  Current Research

Current situation: I am  a postdoctoral fellow  in Pell's Lab, Neuropragmatics and Emotion Lab, in McGill University (Montreal, Canada) from March 2010. I developed with Dr. MD Pell  a project to investigate crossmodal interactions in emotion processing.

My work in LNFP: The work of my thesis was about the interactions between two important adaptative functions: Vision and Emotion. It is well established that visual performances drop with eccentricity. As a consequence, most studies about processing of emotional information always presented stimulations in the center of visual field, where visual performance are the best, but never in large eccentric positions, i.e. in peripheral vision. The general objective of this thesis was to investigate behavioral and neural correlates of peripheral vision and to explore modulations induced by the emotional value of the stimulations (scenes, faces).

We showed for the first time that the saliency of emotional scenes and faces persist in peripheral vision, despite of the drop of visual performance and we bring new perspectives in reeducation of pathologies of central vision by the use of stimulations able to capture attentional ressources in peripheral vision.
